Auditions for Noir Suspicions

We are excited to announce that the InPlayers will be relaunching Noir Suspicions this October!

Book by David Landau and Nikki Stern

Directed by Christine Blakeley

About the Production

In this hard boiled comic mystery sequel to the ever-popular Murder at Cafe Noir (performed by the InPlayers in 2015), ex-private eye Rick Archer is now the confused manager of Cafe Noir on the island of Mustique. He is confronted with a corpse on the dock, a mysterious femme fatale, a French blackmailer and a businessman who wants both the cafe and the woman. Rick is arrested after the blackmailer is murdered in his club. It is up to the audience to convince the magistrate that he is innocent. A tribute to Casablanca with many references to the classic movie, Noir Suspicions is guaranteed to delight audiences whether or not they are familiar with Murder at Cafe Noir.

What to prepare:  After your audition slot is confirmed we will send you a small scene/monologue to prepare. In addition to this scene you may be asked to do a cold reading during the audition.

The play takes part in a nightclub, so in addition to the main characters we will be seeking nightclub acts and supporting staff.  Singers, closeup magicians, flamenco dancers, jugglers, waiters, cocktail waitresses. etc. All will be interacting with the audience and part of the full production in character.  If you are interested in participating in any capacity please let us know via the button below.

Support behind the scenes

Whether you have experience or not, we are always seeking volunteers interested in supporting community theatre.

Backstage support includes set design and build, stage hands, costuming, hair and makeup, assistant stage managing, marketing design, lighting, sound effects, transport etc. We have a production team started but more help is always needed.

Please email us if you would like to get involved with this production backstage.
