Under Milk Wood

  • Polanentheater 174 Polanenstraat Amsterdam, NH, 1013 WC Netherlands (map)

* Image based on drawing of Llareggub by Dylan Thomas.

Come and meet the quirky residents of the village of Llareggub in the upcoming InPlayers production of “Under Milk Wood”, by Dylan Thomas.

In this reimagined version of what Thomas called his “play for voices”, the InPlayers have leaned into a style of presentation that mirrors the nonconformist characters that make up the residents that live in this tiny fictional town in Wales.

Using only their body-language, faces, and pliant voices, the cast brings to life the eccentric and unorthodox people who live under the abundance of the milkwood trees. Each actor portrays a number of villagers, as we follow them from the depths of their dreams, into the light of dawn and on through a typical day of these off-beat examples of humanity.
