With enormous enjoyment and pleasure, Noir Suspicions was performed to sell-out audiences at Mike’s Badhuistheater on 6th - 8th October 2022. After three attempts to get this show on the stage in three years - thanks to the COVID pandemic - director, Christine Blakeley pulled off a tremendous feat of resilience, creativity, skill and directive flair to the delight of our audiences. A wonderful cast, comprising old and new InPlayers’ members, brought the show to life with energy, camaraderie and enormous commitment and hard work.
Set in a seedy café on the island of Mustique, Mike’s Badhuistheater provided the perfect atmosphere for audiences to be involved, sit on stage and feel part of the murder-mystery as it unfolded. The InPlayers are delighted that we have launched our season with this show and our thanks go to everyone involved!
Here is more about the show:
In this hard boiled comic mystery sequel to the ever-popular Murder at Cafe Noir (performed by the InPlayers in 2015), ex-private eye Rick Archer is now the confused manager of Cafe Noir on the island of Mustique. He is confronted with a corpse on the dock, a mysterious femme fatale, a French blackmailer and a businessman who wants both the cafe and the woman. Rick is arrested after the blackmailer is murdered in his club. It is up to the audience to convince the magistrate that he is innocent. A tribute to Casablanca with many references to the classic movie, Noir Suspicions is guaranteed to delight audiences whether or not they are familiar with Murder at Cafe Noir.
