About the play:
This is the story about the suicidal 19 year old boy Harold who finally learns how to truly live when he meets the delightful, energetic, wacky " octogenarian " Maude!
Harold is the proverbial poor rich kid. His alienation has caused him to attempt suicide several times, though these incidents are more cries for attention than actual attempts.
His peculiar attachment to Maude, whom he meets at a funeral (a mutual passion), is what saves him and what captivates us.
"Harold and Maude" is a feel good comedy that celebrates friendship and the love of life, in a very unconventional way."
The original stage version - an adaptation of the movie - originally directed by the internationally renowned Jean Louis Barrault was a huge hit in France. Since its first presentation it has been performed throughout the world.
