Inplayers are proud to host their very successful one day workshops where aspiring actors and aspiring directors get to try out their craft in a safe and fun environment.
There are many considerations to acting in a play and staging a play: blocking, character development, using props and using your body and voice, to name a few. The One-Act Actors' and Directors' Workshop is the chance to practice these skills, both for those who want to act and those who want to direct. This workshop will involve working on a short play approximately 10 minutes long to present at the end of the workshop. Directors may choose their own 10 minutes play / short scene or will be offered a number of plays to choose from if preferred. Actors need only turn up and will be allocated to a particular director where they will work on a short play of the directors’ choosing. Each Saturday will be run as stand-alone workshop and participants are welcome to attend on one day or attend both days. Participants are also welcome to try both acting and directing over the course of the two workshops.
The workshop is open to all In Players members regardless of skill level. Persons new to Inplayers are given the opportunity to join one workshop free of charge. Places are limited and will be allocated on a "first come, first served" basis. To register yourself as an actor or director for one or both Saturdays please email the InPlayers at contact@inplayers.org.
