About the Production

Dario Fo’s The Virtuous Burglar is a traditional farce that tells the tale of a thief who gets a little more than he bargained for when he breaks into the apartment of a wealthy couple. Mistaken identity, unexpected phone calls and cheating couples all play a part in this hilarious romp that looks at the natures of honesty and deception.

Matteo Pasquini is a contemporary author, based in the Netherlands. Silver Wedding is about a newly married couple who unwittingly become the victims of a scam when ordering furniture online. Fast paced and silly, this comedic play looks at the dangers of trust and internet shopping!

These one-act plays will be presented as a double bill and will feature separate casts.

We are looking for a variety of genders and ages to play the 11 parts.

Production Details:

Production location: Polanentheater: Polanenstraat 174, 1013WC Amsterdam

Production dates: 2 December - 5 December, 2021

Rehearsals: Once to twice per week. Rehearsal schedule will be determined based on actors’ stated availability

Audition Details:

Audition Date: Saturday 11th of September and callbacks will be on Sunday 12th of September

Audition Location: CREA
