Workshop: Creating a Rich Inner Life

  • CREA, room 2.01 170 Nieuwe Achtergracht Amsterdam, NH, 1018 WV Netherlands (map)

We invite all aspiring and experienced actors to join the workshop: Creating a Rich Inner Life, by Madison Jolliffe on Saturday, October 7th, from 12:00 to 15:00, at CREA (room 2.01) in Amsterdam.

The workshop is free for members of InPlayers (find information about membership options here: InPlayers Membership).

The workshop “Creating a Rich Inner Life” is the second of workshops provided by Madison Jolliffe. The first one was “The Actor’s Toolbox” on June 3rd, 2023. We invite all actors to join this session, whether you have participated in the first one, or not.

In this workshop you will focus on: Visualisation, imagination, connecting to scene partners, authenticity and presence.

This workshop might be a little more advanced, but it is really effective in moving actors from "show-ers" to "live-ers"!

Madison (she/they) is a theatre-maker, teacher and activist from Canada, living in the Netherlands. They have been teaching theatre and musical theatre since 2013. Currently, they teach acting for The Cauldron in Amsterdam. Before that, they taught various acting workshops for Concordia University from 2019-2022, and musical theatre classes for The Segal Centre Academy from 2016-2020.

Madison is a co-founder of Utopia Syndicate, which is an Utrecht-based theatre collective that focuses on fostering hope through utopian speculation and prefigurative living. They also co-founded and directed Carleton Musical Theatre Society (Ottawa) in 2015, and Hey Lady! Productions (Montreal) in 2017. Madison holds a BFA in Performance Creation and an MA in Contemporary Theatre, Dance and Dramaturgy.
