About the workshop
Ever wondered what it’s like to be the one calling the creative shots on stage? This fun and friendly workshop is a relaxed introduction to the world of theatre directing - with no pressure to get up and perform!
Perfect for members of our amateur theatre group who fancy trying something a little different, this session will explore what a director actually does - from interpreting a script and shaping the story, to working with actors and creating the overall feel of a production. Through discussion, examples, and plenty of shared ideas, we’ll take a look at how directors bring a show to life from page to stage.
Whether you’ve always secretly fancied having a go at directing, want to learn more about what happens behind the scenes, or just enjoy discovering new sides of theatre, this workshop is a great chance to explore the role in a relaxed, supportive, and creative setting.
Come along, get inspired, and see if there’s a director hiding in you after all!
