InPlayers presents

Terry Pratchett’s

Wyrd Sisters

adapted by Stephen Briggs

A Discworld® Play

*

Welcome From The Director

“Do you know that a man is not dead while his name is still spoken?”

– Sir Terry Pratchett, Going Postal

Sir Terry Pratchett has been described as “a national treasure”, “blisteringly smart and funny” and “an unparalleled storyteller”. It is quite an honour to be one of the many keeping his name alive, with this production of Wyrd Sisters. It did seem rather a daunting task to bring the Discworld to life, but it has been a wonderful experience from the very first audition to the last rehearsal. Now, we’re finally into the theatre itself and are excited to share it with you, our fantastic audience.

This would not have been possible without the enthusiasm of all the cast and crew. I have been amazed at how unfazed they have been when I have asked for seemingly impossible things! I am truly grateful to everyone that helped bring this production to fruition.

So, sit back and relax, put your crystal balls on broomstick mode, take off your pointy hats and enjoy this performance of Wyrd Sisters. And remember:…

All the dysk is a stage!

Rae Gerritsen

This amateur production is a 2-act play (about 1 hr 45 min) with an intermission (about 15 min).

Christine Blakeley as Granny Weatherwax

Christine has been with InPlayers many, many years. She has worked backstage and many times on stage. She has directed plays for the InPlayers too. She is looking forward to portraying Granny Weatherwax.

Anna Murton as Nanny Ogg

Anna has over 35 years of theatre experience as an actor, clown, director, writer, and teacher in both the UK and the Netherlands. Recently she appeared in HEA’s Avenue Q and Chicago, and directed She Kills Monsters at the Cauldron. In February she joins Tellus Theatre Company in London in their philosophical comedy, 'Night Train'. Anna has been described as a “stunning and courageous”, “wickedly fun” actor, with “a naughty twinkle in her eye”. As a director and teacher she’s been called… well, that’s unprintable. Anna is thrilled to be playing the affable and rather naughty Nanny Ogg.

Rose Thomas as Magrat Garlick

Growing up in a French school in Paris, Rose Thomas was always involved in theater. They have been in school productions of classical French plays such as Molière’s Le Médecin Malgré Lui and L’Avare. Rose has also appeared in school plays with other English-speaking students, such as a reimagined onstage version of Peter Weir’s Dead Poets Society, as well as other original plays by their school’s English department.

Jeremy Keighley as Duke Felmet

Jeremy is from Derbyshire, England, where he made his acting debut at the age of seven, playing the title role in Humpty Dumpty. He has worked backstage and acted in England, Vienna and Amsterdam. He made his debut at InPlayers in Alan Ayckbourn’s Confusions a long time ago, and more recently appeared in Suspicions Noir, Under Milk Wood and Anxiety and Broken Love. Jeremy is also a writer of poems, short plays and short stories.

Niamh Merritt as Duchess Felmet

Niamh has been performing from a young age, acting in several local plays, and competing in regional performance competitions. She is an avid theatre goer and enthusiast with a passion for directing, and was assistant director for She Kills Monsters with the Cauldron in 2024. She recently returned to the stage in HEA’s production of Blood Brothers, and is excited to step into the Discworld® as the dastardly Duchess Felmet.

Lynn Vogel as The Fool

Lynn has been involved in (musical) theatre since a very young age, with credits both on- and backstage. She's thrilled to have been active within the Amsterdam theatre communities for the past 2 years, during which she's had the opportunity to work on various amazing projects: The Addams Family (costuming), She Kills Monsters (acting), Blood Brothers (acting), and La Cage aux Folles (costuming).

Sean Olson - Roy as King Verence

Sean grew up in a musical theater household and - much to the joy of his children and neighbours - has never stopped singing. After a brief 30 year hiatus from the stage to work for pay in the US and Luxembourg, he retired and moved with his family to Amsterdam. He found the English language theater community in 2020 and has never been happier.

Patrick Annez De Taboada as TomJon, Chamberlain, Soldier

Patrick began acting as a youngster in Glasgow, Scotland before really cutting his teeth in the classic theatre scene of Austria. He has performed in productions from Shakespeare, Wilde, Molière, Goethe and Nestroy across theatres in Graz and Vienna, as well as a number of original plays and musicals. Wyrd Sisters will be his first production in the Netherlands.

Andrew Webster as Hwel, Bowman, Guard

Andrew is a California-based actor living and working in Amsterdam for the last 5 years. He most recently appeared as Samuel Leibowitz in InPlayer’s production of The Day They Kidnapped the Pope.

Yann Belin as Vitoller, Guard

Yann has been part of the Amsterdam English and French theater communities since 2015. He moved to the tech booth a few years ago, but came back back to the stage for She Kill Monsters, Spamalot, and now Wyrd Sisters.

Kirsten Snijders Blok as Mrs Vitoller, Bedlin, Guard, Robber, Player

After her performance as Agnes in the Cauldron’s production of She Kills Monsters, Kirsten is back for more magical adventures. This time she is trading in her sword and shield for a spear and... an apple? She gladly joins the fantastical people of Lancre in Terry Pratchett's Discworld®.

Katya Petrova as Demon, Peasant, Robber, Player

Katya has been part of Amsterdam amateur theatre since 2018, both on and off stage. Her acting credits include: Cabaret, Virtuous Burglar, Noir Suspicious (InPlayers), Allo Allo, Good Soldier Sveik (Badhuis Theater), It's a Wonderful Life, Campfire play readings, The Arsonists (Downstage Left), Portuguese Kid and The Odd Couple (Playhouse Theatergroup). Besides being on stage she enjoys occasional stage manager and production lead projects. Katya is excited to join Wyrd Sisters and explore her inner demonic qualities.

Kevin Snijders Blok as Soldier, Guard, Robber, Player, Gumridge, Wimsloe

The return that no one asked for. After his last performance as “guard that dies #7” in his high school's performance of The Three Musketeers, Kevin once again takes the stage to stab and be stabbed. Now performing not one, not two, but 5 roles. Watch him bring "death" to life.

Sam Aronson as Sergeant, Soldier, Player, Peasant

Sam moved from the USA to Amsterdam in 2022 so that he could better pursue his creative passions. He is very excited to be performing on stage with InPlayers! When not acting, Sam writes short fiction. You can see some of his quirkily optimistic work @glasshalffullofwhat.
