One Table, Two Chairs

One Table, Two Chairs is about the glimpses into relationships we happen to catch: the fragile beginnings, the tumultuous middles, the bittersweet endings. Inspired by A.R. Gurney’s The Dining Room and Jules Feiffer’s Hold Me,the play consists of short scenes and monologues which take place at a table with two chairs. The setting may be simple, but the problems we see there are complex: sometimes funny, sometimes scary, sometimes tragic.

Jacquelyn Poplar is a writer, actress, director, and producer. After bouncing around many of the great cities in the US, she has moved to the Netherlands to find a new artistic home. Also she got a job here. She has an MFA in Acting from Penn State and is a member of Actors Equity and SAG-AFTRA. She has written plays (including Sextangle, a modern commedia, also with Robert Leeds) and screenplays and lots and lots of software.

Robert Leeds, playwright, actor, singer, and mime artist, sees his art as a way to look at life straight on, but approach it from an unexpected angle. With the occasional foray into seriousness, he mostly uses humor to entice his audiences into sitting in the passenger seat of his automobile and watching how he drives his vehicle towards his destination.
