We invite all aspiring and experienced actors to join the Workshop The Actor’s Inner Process: Where Action Is Born - Deepening the Work, led by Elena Rechych.
The workshop is free for members of InPlayers. Find information about membership options (like membership for a day) here: InPlayers Membership.
This workshop continues the exploration started in the previous session (on January 24) and is also fully accessible for new participants who wish to dive into the work.
The session builds on the core principles of the actor’s inner process, with a stronger focus on development, integration, and practical application. It further explores the actor’s inner process: the invisible mechanisms that shape presence, behavior, and action before text or emotion appear.
Through a practical and experiential approach, participants investigate how meaning is created internally and how inner impulses naturally translate into clear, truthful, and embodied external action. The focus moves beyond introduction toward further development and application of acting tools in practice.
Participants will work with concrete tools that can be directly applied to scene work and rehearsal processes, supporting actors in making conscious, grounded, and responsive choices on stage and on set.
The work centers on awareness, attention, contact, and impulse, offering actors adaptable tools that support authentic performance across different styles, texts, and creative contexts.
Focus of the Workshop:
Inner speech and attention as sources of action
Body, voice, and gesture as conscious expressive choices
The relationship between inner evaluation, emotion, and behavior
Contact with oneself and with a partner
Reaction, influence, and presence in the moment
Objective, action, and change as results of the inner process
Integration of inner impulses into concrete scenic action
Applying inner process tools to rehearsal and scene work
Time Sunday, 21 February, from 13:00 till 17:00
Location CREA room 2.02, Nieuwe Achtergracht 170, Amsterdam
