Workshop: A Working Play Reading of TWO by Jim Cartwright

This funny, touching play set in a British pub will get the InPlayers treatment in this working play reading.

TWO is a peek into pub life in the North of England portraying life and its complexities. Be prepared for quarrelling landlords, (un)faithful lovers, and even a lost little boy.

At the workshop we will split up the play into scenes and work on them in small groups. Then we showcase the entire play by presenting our scenes to the group, highlighting our interpretations, all under the guidance of the brilliant Christine Blakeley, a longstanding and experienced member of the InPlayers.

This workshop is free for members who joined in either our 2020/21 or 2021/22 season. If you are not a member, you can become a Member For A Day for €25 to join this workshop.

One Act Actors & Directors Workshop

InPlayers are proud to host their very successful one day workshops where aspiring actors and aspiring directors get to try out their craft in a safe and fun environment. Taking place at CREA Room 402. All participants must be registered in advance. Please send an email to contact@InPlayers if you would like to participate. All director slots are full but there are still some spaces available for participants who would like to act.

There are many considerations to acting in a play and staging a play: blocking, character development, using props and using your body and voice, to name a few. The One-Act Actors' and Directors' Workshop is the chance to practice these skills, both for those who want to act and those who want to direct. This workshop will involve working on a short play approximately 10 minutes long to present at the end of the workshop. Directors may choose their own 10 minutes play / short scene or will be offered a number of plays to choose from if preferred. Actors need only turn up and will be allocated to a particular director where they will work on a short play of the directors’ choosing. Each Saturday will be run as stand-alone workshop and participants are welcome to attend on one day or attend both days. Participants are also welcome to try both acting and directing over the course of the two workshops.

The workshop is open to all In Players members regardless of skill level. Persons new to Inplayers are given the opportunity to join one workshop free of charge. Places are limited and will be allocated on a "first come, first served" basis. To register yourself as an actor or director for one or both Saturdays please email the InPlayers at contact@inplayers.org.

Second of the two day workshops enabling aspiring actors and directors to try their hand at acting or directing a short play or a scene from a play. No need to have attended workshop number one, each day is a standalone workshop and all are invited to come and enjoy what is guaranteed to be a lovely theatrical day! Register at contact@inplayers.org. Click on the title for more information.
